Sanna Ruhalahti

Teacher educator, dialogical learning community developer, and
pedagogical learning process designer.

Welcome to my showcase ePortfolio where I share my research and teaching competence.

I am a teacher educator and educational developer at TAMK University of Applied Sciences. I’m a Doctor of Philosophy (University of Lapland, Faculty of Education/Media Pedagogy). Currently, I work as a Principal lecturer at the faculty of Pedagogical Innovations and Culture.
I have a varied background with a master’s degree in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills and over 25 years of work experience as a teacher.
Since 2007, I have been involved in professional and vocational teacher education and have almost twenty years of experience in online and distance learning and teaching.
My professional passions as a teacher and educator are deeper learning design, dialogue skills, learning communities, and digital pedagogy.

Current development and research interests are pedagogical learning design, dialogical skills, learning design, deep(er) learning evaluation, micro-credentials and digital learning environments (incl. MOOCs, OERs, mLearning, PLEs, ePortfolios and digital badges). In addition, I’ve been keen to explore educators´ soft skills, socio-emotional skills and knowledge.

He who loves practice without theory is like the sailor who boards ship without a rudder and compass and never knows where he may cast.”

“She is a wonderful teacher who learns new methods as well as student-centred Approaches and especially showed us that we should teach with much love to our students.”
“I`ve learned so much with her. Particularly about myself, I have to be more participative, mainly in the speaking activities. “
“Her practice in the classroom is inspiring. For the first time in my life, I had the opportunity to work with Vygotsky from theoretical and practical aspects.”
“Presenter had a wonderful presence. Good balance of lecture, activity, and reflection. Thankful for reflection time.”
